Not much is better in the summers than cabin weekends. What are our favorite things to do at the cabin?
Hadley: Playing
Miles: He said everything then he went off on a tangent about how he wants grandpa to hook the trailer onto the tractor and give him rides.
Sarah: Drinking coffee and relaxing in the mornings while the kids play and the sun rises above the lake and eating meals outside
Mike: Putzing on the pontoon and swinging the kids
We spent a quiet (well, it's all relative) weekend picking raspberries, going on mini walks, swinging and laying in the hammock, fishing (we actually caught enough to have a fish fry), pontooning, playing in the sand, playing cards, "doing projects," eating s'mores and enjoying beautiful weather.
While Miles forehead and legs are lumpy with bug bites and Hadley's legs are bruised from climbing in and out of her pack n' play, this was one of the first times we've come home from the cabin and not felt like we should make a trip to the doctor - everyone is healthy and tired.
Miles likes to stay busy and loves doing projects with grandpa. He spent a lot of time doing important work wheeling the two-wheel cart around the lawn. I actually felt like I fully enjoyed Hadley's sweet and sassy self - we rocked together in the hammock and she loves to play pretend - whether she's a kitty and wants to be fed, she's a violinist or a mama babysitting her puppy.
